Occasionally Ed Schulz goes too far, and O'Donnell can get worked up. Rachel is usually dead on in her assessments. Yes, she approaches everything from a liberal bias, but she is fair and spares her audience the hateful fire and brimstone of some of her conservative counterparts. You won't find a counterpart on MSNBC for the birther crap and other conspiracy theory stuff you get on Fox or Rush. PS: I find Schulz and Matthews equally boorish, obnoxious, and boring.

It's a matter of perspective. Ours obviously differ.

No business owner has decided to tank the economy. If the economy tanks it is the policies that emit from the Fed with 68 new regulations per day and the big two; Obamacare and the expected new higher taxes on the horizon. This makes me doubt whether you have an understanding of the economy and business at all. All these new policies, taxes, and Obamacare are hurting the people that can least afford it. 1 in 6 is on Medicare, 1 in 6 is in poverty, 1 in 6 are on food stamps. It is getting worse not better. You do the math. Jobs are what is needed and none of Obama's policies have helped job growth with any significant effect except in the negative. Besides, there are those that think it has already tanked based on the slow recovery and dismal growth. Blame does not fall on the business owners. We, like you, are just trying to survive.

![]() What we call "America" is an idea represented by our Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. That some people have not been able to prosper here is not the fault of the country or the fault of some evil cabal of world controlling rich people. I personally have seen immigrants both old and new prosper here. I have personally seen and know about people and family that could barely speak the language when they arrived but have still managed to provide homes and businesses to support themselves and their families. Yes, it is difficult and yes, there are people that feel left out of the race. But there are no guarantees of success and there does not seem to be any lasting shortcuts. Talent and luck are not evenly distributed throughout the human race and neither are the two most important qualities needed to succeed; desire and persistence. My mother used to read certain scriptures to us (my little brother & I) out of our big colorful family Bible when we were kids. Usually it was after church on Sundays while we changed out of our good Sunday clothes (but not always) or when we needed what is now called a "time out." One scripture that actually meant something to me was this one: "Then the LORD said to Moses, 'Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.'" - Exodus 14:15-16 When I asked her what that meant, she told us that it meant, "Don't just pray, do something." (English translation from her Spanish, "No sólo rezar, hace algo"). She was bilingual but mostly spoke "TexMex" using a combination of words from both languages. It stuck. I can still hear her heavily Mexican/Spanish accented voice say those words now. I don't think she got that from her Catholic Church but as a child musician playing violin in the local Protestant Church. Do people ever get over missing their parents?

What appears to have happened is, company's no longer gave any committments to the employee and put them out the door on a whim, they no longer valued the employee as part of the "family". In turn, the attitude of the workers has degenerated to the point that they don't care about the company anymore or dedication to the company. Now we have workers and future employees that are just in it for themselves - just like the company. |
