I like the way you think. Mr. GradStnt must be a lucky guy.

Also, if you watched the Morning Joe, you know that, regardless of whether or not you believe that Obama new of Petraeus's infidelity before the election, it's clear that House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, a Republican, was made of aware of it during the last week in October. If you believe this issue would have been important to voters, then you should be pissed that Cantor failed to inform the electorate.

You are right, but that point goes to whether it was or wasn't valid to investigate him in the first place. DA's point, I think, was that the White House may have suppressed the story until it was too late to have any effect on the election. The essence of my response was to ask, "How could it have affected the election."

I have the answer to that .... it wasn't the fact of an affair. Hell, Like Leno says ..."If the CIA director can't keep an affair secret, you don't have a chance." It was about the other stuff that is coming out now like a maybe a Secret Prison in Benghazi; the presence of the two Seals trying to get the missing weapons (a cover story) and the fact that the Terrorists might have been trying to extricate their associates from a prison that wasn't supposed to exist in the first place. It seems that the idle pillow talk that GradStudnt was referring to and the 3rd women, and her husband that really tip off the FBI might have helped uncover a lot more than anyone wanted known about Benghazi and the General's dalliance. So there is probably more to come out or it will all get buried and go away. Either way, there were some embarrassing revelations that might have come out so the Administration was playing CYA, and it seems they should have done a better job playing CYA to start with! Amateurs, they are all fucking amateurs! If they want to learn how to keep a secret they should talk to the Chinese and the Hollywood script writers that keep the plots of their movies secret even after they have premiered!!

To address the fact that one of those dastardly Republicans was informed but didn't make the information public may very well be that he was told or asked to keep the information in confidence. The White House is saying that they were not told at all until 5:00 PM Nov. 6. It is also being reported that the AG was informed several months ago. This is beginning to sound a lot like the F&F snow job we got from Holder. Did the AG feel that it was unimportant to inform the top people in the White House. The last I heard most of them have top security clearance. Or Maybe it isn't important to tell the POTUS that the guy heading up the intel operation for the whole damn country may (I repeat)may be in a precarious security position. I never said that the W.H. administration withheld the information until after the election. I am agreeing with Dianne Feinstein though in that the whole damn thing doesn't pass the smell test. I'm also of the opinion that this administration does not operate in a cohesive manor. I have zero confidence in Eric Holder. He just does his own thing is either incompetent, is suffering from a loss of memory or he is a damn lier. Who really knows why this was brought out, coincidentally, on the day of the election. The FBI has stated that the General's only actual wrong doing appears to be infidelity to his wife. Would it have changed the election?? I doubt that. That die was already cast. If it had been brought out sooner could it have been a distraction. Possibly but I doubt that too because Obama and company were in full campaign mode and nothing would have broken that concentration. At this point Holder has Potus' back by either not informing him or saying that he didn't inform him. Am I pissed at Cantor? Not at all. Hopefully you would admit that this is indeed a scandal that goes pretty near the top of this administration with ramifications yet unknown. Maybe we'll know what really took place prior to the 2016b election. It wouldn't have made a difference but one has to ask if it wasn't just being expedient to withhold it until after the election just avoid any possibly distractions of the voters. The same may be said of the person in the FBI that may have thought that it would be charitable to wait. WTF knows. Quote:
The question I was asking was more to the point of whether or not it was proper for an FBI agent to get involved in a friends complaint that she received some weird E-mails. That was the trail that ultimately lead to Petreaus. I admit that I don't know the content of the e-mails but my point was more to question if that was proper use of his office and it may well be.

This story gets more weird with each passing day. I'm withholding judgement until everything shakes out.
