Ha ha ha... But just as many (or more) would lose their jobs under Romney. Remember, this shit all started under the same policies as Romney's. The recovery happened under Obama's policies. Pretty basic stuff.

What recovery? You and I both know that the unemployment numbers are skewed. They do not reflect those who no longer collect unemployment compensation nor do they reflect how many more people are in the welfare system. Granted, there are some signs of recovery, but I'm not feeling very confident that we are "out of the woods yet".

There are some signs of recovery. We just had so much happen at once, such as the financial crisis, 2 wars, etc....that recovery may be a little slower. We also have to replace jobs that were sent overseas. Most all of my adult students find work soon after graduation and I have received triple the amount of employer reference calls over the last 6 months. Granted this is healthcare...but we started to feel the crunch there for awhile.

There are lots of job openings in healthcare...I hear managers state all the time that they cannot find trained workers.

I hope you're right. I'm not sure that healthcare is a good measure of our economic health. There are constantly promotions, retirements, transfers, etc..... But I'm glad to hear all is well there. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours.

The original intent of the 2nd amendment can be explained by the following:

"Some wise men (Our Founding Fathers) knew from personal experience that governments can, and usually do, become tyrannical and the Second Amendment was an attempt to keep the government in check. They were not advocating another revolution but providing the people the means of discouraging government from becoming too dictatorial, by the possible threat of insurrection, thinking that the right to keep and bear arms would be a deterrent and cause the leaders to behave."

Many people believe that the second amendment was only for the protection of peoples right to hunt. They also say that the founding fathers had no idea that there would ever be semi-automatic or automatic weapons that are common today so it was not their intent that the citizenry would ever have reason to possess weapons of that nature. Knowing that the intent was in reality to be a deterrent to a power hungry government it is only logical that the fire-power of the citizenry should necessarily be comparable to the the fire-power of the government that may need to be discouraged.
