and the obamacare bill was passed (without) full discloser of ALL the contents of the bill. what? sign first...read it later? sign first, ask questions later? That's not right.

Executive orders in conflict with the USC are illegal, and should warrant impeachment if they are that flagrant. I agree that the bill was passed without discloser. It is an abominable waste of paper that will cripple business, the middle class, and have far reaching negative consequences for quite some time. Sixty plus house members lost their job over the passing of Obamacare in 2010 for voting the party line instead of having a set and doing what was right for the country. I fail to understand how Obama didn't lose his given the unpopularity of the bill. I guess people thought Romney was the Anti-Christ or something. I would have voted for Daffey Duck over Obama just to get rid of Obamacare.

When one looks at the transformation of the country it becomes logical that the protections and power, granted the citizens by the USC, are being usurped by the Executive branch of the government. Sadly that is being accomplished with the consent of the people's representatives in the legislative branch so we as citizens and voters share the blame.
Example: Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 read in part as follows: "Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both." That gave the average citizen reassurance that their own government's military would not be used against them under order from a out of control, tyrannical leader. In 2006, Congress passed bill H.R.5122 granting the President the right to commandeer Federal and State National Guard Troops for use against citizens. The bill is entitled the John Warner Defense Appropriation Act for Fiscal Year 2007. Part of the text of H.R.5122 reads as follows giving the President the authority to: ".employ the armed forces, including the National Guard in Federal service, to... restore public order and enforce the laws of the United States when, as a result of a natural disaster, epidemic, or other serious public health emergency, terrorist attack or incident, or other condition in any State or possession of the United States..., where the President determines that,...domestic violence has occurred to such an extent that the constituted authorities of the State or possession are incapable of maintaining public order; suppress, in a State, any insurrection, domestic violence, unlawful combination, or conspiracy...” Now IMO that gives almost unlimited, broad, legal authority to the President to declare Martial Law under under just about any condition he so chooses. In addition to that it has effectively neutered the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878. As a proud resident of a place known as Looneyville, I find it damn hard to accept the above and many other individual actions to be anything other than the systematic, intentional, obvious, incremental usurpation of power by the Federal Government. This isn't owned be either Political Party. Both have been and still are slowly but surely stripping away the power that the USC granted to the people. We should be very aware and watchful and perhaps very afraid.

I've watched many businesses die and it's very sad. Every building left unoccupied and stripped down, reminds me of grave stones in a cemetery. They were once alive and thriving...but now, the businesses are dead. How much more will the so called 99% take? They were all up and arms protesting for what they got. Now they hate it. Where's all those protesters now???

Great post DA. This is all very sobering and could serve as evidence that those in the government have a genuine fear of the people. The re-affirmation of our civil liberties is the reason why I am a supporter of the Tea Party. The elites in both parties lose considerable power and leverage when the compass is reset. It was reset a little in 2010 with the power shift in the House. Many still haven't gotten "it" yet. Even Dragon Lady Feinstein is getting disrespected by some of her favorite constituents http://youtu.be/f5BS5R_Xjio

I don’t claim to have an inside track on clandestine or surreptitious agendas of the Federal Government. Some have commented that this administration is more transparent than past administrations have been. I don’t share that opinion but that is not to say that administrations in the past have a stellar record in that regard either. I do, though, claim to have one hell of a lot of questions that remain unanswered. I feel justified to put those questions out there in hopes of either putting my fears or concerns to rest or through a collective effort with others, with like curiosity, attempt to peal away the cloak of secrecy that shrouds the actions and intentions of my/our government. There is nothing that would please me more than to find that I have nothing to fear from them. It has been said that the only dumb question is the one that you have no answer for but are reluctant to ask.
My interest in Posse Comitatus Act and the subsequent neutering of it leads to additional questions. The following is a brief, incomplete outline of the events that peaked my interest. A director was appointed to the newly formed Office of Homeland Security which was conceived in the aftermath of 9/11 2001. It’s original mandate was to oversee and coordinate a comprehensive national strategy to safeguard against terrorism and respond to any future attacks. The Department of Homeland Security Act was than enacted in late 2002. Posse Comitatus was the law of the land for over 100 years. I find it interesting that the timing of HR5122, The John Warner Defense Appropriation Act for Fiscal Year 2007, the bill that neutered it, happened during the formative years of the DHS and I can’t help but to ask “Why now? We also know that DHS has not secured our boarders which was one of their mandates but that doesn’t seem to be much of a priority at this time. We also know that DHS has purchased an inordinately large number (21.6 million rounds) of ammunition and 7000 fully automatic assault rifles. We already have a fully armed military that is charged with protecting our borders from attack by a foreign aggressor. Combine the facts: 1. Posse Comitatus was the law of the land for over 100 years assuring us that our own military would not be unleashed against us, the citizens of the US. 2. The Office of Homeland Security was born out of the aftermath of 9/11/2011. 3. The original concept for the Office of Homeland Security has been expanded with the passing of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 and that expansion continues today. 4. HR5122 was enacted in 2007 rendering The Posse Comitatus Act ineffective. 5. HR5122 gives the President broad, almost limitless, power to commandeer Federal and State National Guard Troops for use against citizens. This is diametrically opposed to the long standing Posse Comitatus Act. 6. The US maintains a fully armed military charged with and capable of protecting our boarders from foreign attack. 7. We know that DHS has not secured our boarders with little evidence that that is much of a priority. 8. We know FEMA is constructing internment camps. 9. We know that DHS has purchased an extremely large supply of ammunition. 10. We know that DHS has purchased 7000 fully automatic assault rifles. 11. We know that in July of 2008, President Obama promised the creation and establishment of a “Civilian National Security Force.”* He further promised it would be “just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded as the US Military.” 12.. We know that our President has overstepped his authority in the past which would be indicative that he could do that again. I find it damn hard to believe that all of the above can be coincidental. Is DHS in the process of becoming our new "Civilian National Defense Force", as promised, without our knowledge? I don’t have all of the answers but I do believe that asking just what the hell is going on is appropriate. Not having the answers is ample reason to be concerned and fearful.

I definitely share your fears and concerns. I'd like to believe that you and I are among the concerned who are not wing nut conspiracy theory types, however quite a few things just do not add up regardless of where we stand in the political spectrum. I would like to believe that the internment camps will be used when the government does the right thing and starts rounding up those who violated the sovereignty of the USA and crossed into this country illegally. Perhaps to include in your list is: Why did the government a few years back commandeer the UHF/VHF frequencies that were once used by rural folks to receive TV reception? I would like to believe that DHS is working to round up illegals based upon the photo of this impressive vehicle. That would lead to another question though...... Does the border patrol and ICE have vehicles like this?

I agree with your comments but the most important question in my mind is "WHY IS THERE A SHROUD OF SECRECY AND/OR DENIAL REGARDING ACTIONS THAT WOULD NOT BE DETRIMENTAL TO OUR NATIONAL SECURITY?" if there truly is no clandestine agenda. I sometimes believe that the powers to be believe in the old adage that "It's easier to ask forgiveness than to ask for permission" but IMO that's wrongheaded if true. Power within our Government is (or was) intended to be bottom up being given by the people to the Government as opposed to top down with government wielding absolute power over the people. Power is very addictive and I see the top down thing gaining strength and speed and we the people need to apply the brakes if our form of government is to survive.

Glad you liked the "Special Response Team" taxi. Looks like something the A Team and Rambo corroborated on. It seems a bit odd to me. Your question is valid in that substantial evidence exists to give rise to it. The government is off the rails and elections seem to be producing more and more of the same. Until the leak of the drone information they've been moving right along with their shadowy plans. Our reps are quick to label people like us as "preppers", "conspiracy nuts", and the like. I'm not sure what approach is going to work to get the train back on the tracks. The apathy and laziness in this country is abominable.
