After spending trillions of dollars, beginning in 2009 and continuing through today, all under the guise of creating jobs or saving our economy, the following statistics show that the Obama and/or Democrats current employment policies are a miserable failure.
The total percentage of employed people has remained consistent at about 58.6% for over three and a half years. To reiterate, that's the worst we have had since the early '80s. Looking at the graph it becomes obvious that the actual number of people employed hasn't changed in any significant way from September, 2009 through January 2013 and just to give everyone something to look forward to, we can look forward to about 4 more years of this. http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS12300000 I'll try to remember to give monthly updates. As so aptly and arrogantly said by Obama, "Elections have consequences". By 2016 that will become even more apparent.

dumbass......for so many years, the Workers are waiting for the Politicians to create jobs...
I remember when I was in University, almost all of my mates where 100% sure that after they graduate they will work in banks, big companies, will earn high salaries, company car, etc..... It seemed that we were just a fiew thinking that after graduation, in fact, what is expecting uss is a big uncertainty and to get a " good job" will be no easy game... In fact, what I mean: the Politicians, or the Workers, create jobs? Should we be more aware that in fact, there's no future, if we don't create JOBS OURSELVES AND FOR OURSELVES????

The total percentage of people employed in the US through February 2013 reamins unchanged at 58.6%.
http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS12300000 This is one statistic that the Govt. hasn't altered yet doing stupid stuff like not counting people that have dropped out of the labor market or "Seasonally" adjusting etc. You'll never hear them telling you on the news programs but there was no improvement in the month of February.

And this will affect us all, but in the same time, I do believe that the ONLY solution rests in.....going OUT of "working class" as freelancer or small business owner, or commission based jobs-business.........or, why not, small-to-grow-big business owners.... Internet is HERE.......Would be unfair to use it only for Music, Video & Facebook

There is so damn much regulation in this day and age as compared to the way things were "BACK IN THE DAY" that it is damn near not worth the effort to start a business on your own. I'll give an interesting example of a local company in Elyria, Ohio: The Thomasson brand began in Elyria during the Great Depression when founder Oralie Thomasson lost his job as a streetcar motorman when the lines closed in 1931. He learned how to make a new snack, potato chips, while visiting relatives in Tucson, Ariz., that same year. When Thomasson returned to Elyria, he began production of the hand-cut chips in his garage on West Avenue. In an interview with The Chronicle-Telegram in 1974, William E. Thomasson Jr., the last family member to head the firm until he sold it to Jones, said, “Granddad had an old hog kettle encased in concrete. He heated the grease in it over a furnace until it reached 350 degrees.” Thomasson said his grandfather sold the potato chips door-to-door during the Great Depression for a nickel a bag. In 1984, when the firm was located on Kipling Street, it employed more than 20 people and had four trucks that delivered the popular chips throughout Northeast Ohio. A couple of years ago they were bought out by a bigger company and the operation was moved out of their hometown of Elyria. Today you would not be permitted to do what Old Man Thomasson did. The health Department, The EPA and a whole host of other government regulators would not allow you to even think of doing what he did. He never hurt or killed anyone but the regulators would be all over you like stink on a manure pile. Another example. I bought a building with the intention of remodeling office space to accommodate a beauty salon. The zoning was correct and there were no structural changes but they stopped me from proceeding. I had to hire an architect. The guy I hired had been licensed for 30 years. He retired and left his license expire, came out of retirement, reapplied for his license and went to work for himself. When we submitted the plans, the regional state inspector rejected them and s***ested that I get an experienced architect as opposed to this kid fresh out of school. I hired another guy that drew up plans that were damn near a copy of the originals and they sailed right through. The only reason for the original rejection was based on the license number that looked like the guy had no experience and more that likely hadn't paid his dues. The entire thing cost me about $25,000.00 and nine long months. I could go on and on with horror stories. The Government just has way the hell too much power and it is killing the incentive to create jobs.

dumbass, I totally agree with you, only that, now we are in the Internet Business Age, and lots of "internet business or jobs" are not as much regulated as the "classic business and jobs"...
![]() Do you get my point? Of course, starting a "classic business" has the difficulties of lots of regulations and lots of competitors, but starting businesses in new fields as internet NOW has HUGE potential.... ![]() Maybe soon, it will also become "highly regulated".... :P

CNS NEWS – The Congressional Budget Office is now projecting that the U.S. economy will never achieve full employment during the eight years Barack Obama serves as president.
The CBO defines “full employment” to be when the national unemployment rate is at or below what it calls the “natural unemployment rate.” The natural unemployment rate, according to CBO, is the “rate of unemployment arising from all sources except fluctuations in aggregate demand. Those sources include frictional unemployment, which is associated with normal turnover of jobs, and structural unemployment, which includes unemployment caused by mismatches between the skills of available workers and the skills necessary to fill vacant positions and unemployment caused when wages exceed their market-clearing levels because of institutional factors, such as legal minimum wages, the presence of unions, social conventions, or wage-setting practices by employers that are intended to increase workers’ morale and effort.”
