I am brand new to backpage, so it is possible that my question has been asked and answered before. Anyway here goes:
I have seen the ads for "escorts" and a lot of the ads state "donation" is for time and companionship only. In a legal term does that actually work? It seems highly unlikely but I don't know.
Please answer if you can. Thanks for your time.

No. It provides neither you nor the escort any legal protection. It's ridiculous.
